Worth considering: tank printers
If you print regularly, a refillable-tank machine changes the economics completely — ink comes in bottles rather than cartridges. They need the right ink and occasional head maintenance, and eventually the waste pad counter needs attention, but for genuine volume they are a different proposition.
If you print rarely, they are not automatically better: ink still dries in nozzles whether it came from a bottle or a cartridge, and an idle tank printer clogs like any other.
